The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the small, cozy kitchen. David sat at the kitchen table, savoring a cup of coffee and watching the morning light illuminate the dust motes dancing in the air. The world felt right.

"Remember that carnival?" he asked, a smile on his face. "I won you that giant teddy bear."

Sarah laughed. "You did not. I won it myself by knocking over those milk bottles."

David blinked. "No way. I remember getting the perfect score on the ring toss. It was a moment of true athletic glory."

Sarah shook her head. "You threw the rings at the wrong bottles. And I recall the teddy bear being far less impressive than you remember."
